Midland Tyres Group acquires TAB Tyres and Batteries Ltd

Midland Tyres Group has completed the acquisition of TAB Tyres and Batteries Ltd. in County Dublin.

According to Midland Tyres, this acquisition will help enhance its service offering to its fleets in the greater Dublin area, and to offer a wider range of services and 24-hour support to TAB’s customers.

As part of the Midland Tyres Group, TAB is now said to be well positioned to expand its fleet and breakdown coverage across the wider Dublin area.

Located on the Naas Road, TAB Tyres and Batteries Ltd has been in business since 1982. Midland Tyres says the firm will maintain its customer–centric values while benefitting from increased resources and support.

The acquisition of TAB marks Midland Tyres Group’s second acquisition in recent times, following the purchase of Wexford-based Meyler Tyres less than two years ago. Midland Tyres Group says this is part of its overall growth strategy to strategically increase its operating locations.

Philip Lynch, managing director of TAB Tyres and Batteries Ltd., who will remain with the business to ensure a smooth and successful transition stated: “I look forward to working with Noel and the Midlands team whom I believe are the best fit to take TAB Tyres to the next stage of its journey.

“I have worked with Noel and his team for a number of years and believe that together, the offering of TAB as part of the Midlands group will benefit our customers.”

Noel Kingston, CEO of Midland Tyres Group added: “We are extremely pleased to welcome TAB to the growing Midlands family. Philip has done a fantastic job growing their business, offering great value to all the customers he services with unparalleled knowledge of tyres across all sectors.

“We will endeavour to continue the service and look forward to supporting our existing fleet business in the wider Dublin area.”
