Midland Tyres acquired in shareholder buy-out

Midland Tyre Services (MTS) the commercial tyre dealer to both the trade and end users has been acquired in a shareholder buy-out.

Noel Kingston

The company has been acquired by Valsyn, a company owned by Kerry native Noel Kingston.

The acquisition comes about following Valsyn’s initial investment in the company in 2017. Since Noel’s arrival, his expertise has helped in the growth of Midland Tyres over the past two years and following this period, he approached current owners Mark Kane and Kevin Nolan in an effort to acquire 100 per cent of the share capital.

Noel has strengthened the management team with the addition of new Directors Manjt Gill, Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chris Parle, Operations Officer to MTS.

MTS has continued to grow year on year and now employs in excess of 26 staff at HQ in Borris in Ossory, Co. Laois, as well as a number of satellite staff nationwide.

MTS has also invested heavily in new systems in recent years, such as a new app to provide GPS coordinates of breakdowns as they strive to improve customer services while moving with the fast-changing times and the increasing demands and pressures within the Irish commercial sector.

MTS has continued to grow its coverage throughout the 32 counties of Ireland while forming many dealer partners at the same time. MTS also plans to further expand its breakdown fleet and staff numbers to meet the growing demand for its services from its loyal customer base.

Noel Kingston the new MD of Midland Tyres commented: “We acquired MTS because it was a successful and well-managed business built up by Mark and Kevin. We saw an opportunity to take the business to the next level, to invest and grow the business further. Our success is based on the dedication, experience and hard work of our staff in delivering unrivalled service to our valued customers. Our team deliver a fantastic 24/7 service to our valued customers, regardless of weather conditions or location in Ireland or further afield.  We have a fleet of over 18 fully kitted mobile units that attend to close to 6,000 Emergency Roadside Breakdowns each year throughout the 32 counties of Ireland.”
