When Michelin introduced the first CrossClimate tyre a few years ago, it heralded a new all-season category, and I for one was won over. There followed the CrossClimate + and the CrossClimate SUV and now we have news that the CrossClimate 2 will be along soon. Rivals such as Bridgestone caught up in this category and Michelin is determined to find another level.
Word from the US is that the new Michelin CrossClimate 2 will be supported by an extensive marketing campaign, when it is launched there on Aug. 3. It comes with a 60,000-mile warranty. Pictures show the impressive “V-formation” tread design, and it features 3D locking sipes. Michelin boast that a thermal-adaptive tread compound provides outstanding traction.
