Michelin puts on a show at Goodwood Festival of Speed

As proud sponsor of the Goodwood Festival of Speed Supercar Paddock, Michelin has teamed up with British racing driver Tim Harvey to put on a show of high-velocity entertainment at the UK’s flagship automotive and motorsport event, which runs from 28 June to 1 July 2012.

With three exhibition spaces across the festival, Michelin will bring its motorsport heritage to life for visitors to the tyre maker’s stands in the main arena, at the Supercar Paddock and within the FoS Tech Pavilion.

At the Michelin Supercar Paddock Tim will welcome cars and their drivers directly off the track onto the stand for an interview.

Tim said: “I can’t wait to see the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, Daniel Lloyd and his Porsche GT3 racecar, Tiff Needell with a BMW M6 and of course the Michelin Man himself on the stand – it’s going to be such a spectacle and I’m really looking forward to seeing some old friends too – everyone is welcome!”

Many more supercars and drivers will be appearing on the stand over the four days of the Festival, as well as some exclusive prize giveaways and special offers to tempt all-comers to join in the fun.

Also on the stand will be the Michelin Pit Stop Challenge – a replica racing car fully tooled up for Pit Stop action for everyone to have a go.  Hosted by motoring journalist and broadcaster Victoria Macmillan Bell, the Challenge will pit teams against one another in a race to change the wheels on the car with prizes for the best times of the day.

Victoria said: “Tutored by a team of Michelin experts, the Pit Stop Challenge is open to everyone, and I’d encourage anybody to have a go and see how difficult it is to change a wheel in anything like a respectable time.  The race is on and I’ll see you there!”
