Irish drifter to make debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Extreme Drift Allstars European Champion, Irishman, James Deane will make his debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 25-28) in his 700bhp Falken Motorsports Nissan 200SX S14. Set to appear alongside some of the world’s leading drift drivers, Deane, who started drifting at the age of 15, has been selected to participate in the event’s first-ever category devoted to the discipline.
“Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the biggest motoring events in the world,” says Deane, now 23 and a six-time championship winner. “I’m looking forward to showing a crowd that has probably seen very little, if any, what the sport is about. We’ve got a stack of Falken tyres to smoke through and plan to put on a show!”
Deane, who recently broke the Guinness World Record for the longest tandem drift ever recorded, sliding for 45 minutes and covering over 17.3 miles, should have no problem drifting for the entire 1.16 miles of Goodwood’s hillclimb.
“I’m hoping to impress the Goodwood crowds and maybe tempt a few to come and watch Team Falken perform in the number of drift championships we compete in.”
