Tyre maker Hankook will be supplying its tyres to the new BMW 7 Series as original fitment. The new generation of the BMW Group’s luxury car will be fitted with Hankook’s ultra-high performance summer and winter tyres, Ventus S1 evo2 and i*cept evo, both in runflat versions. The tyres have been developed in the company’s German-based European R&D Centre and are supplied to the BMW directly from Hankook’s European high-end factory in Hungary.
Hankook’s high-end premium flagship tyre Ventus S1 evo2 shall be fitted in special runflat sizes 245/50 R 18 Y *RSC (Runflat Safety Component) alongside mixed sizes 245/45 R19 Y*RSC for the front and 275/40 R19 Y*RSC for the rear axle providing ultra-high performing summer mobility. The tyre manufacturer’s ultra-high-performance cold weather pattern Winter i*cept evo will be supplied in size 245/50R 18 H *RSC on each corner ensuring superior winter performance is achieved.
The 7 Series saloon is the seventh model by the BMW Group to be fitted with Hankook tyres including MINI, the BMW 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Series as well as the X5. This marks another important milestone in Hankook’s global expansion in to the premium automotive segment as it is the first time the tyre Maker is supplying both summer and winter tyres to the BMW Group as original equipment. “We are proud to be supplying not only our UHP flagship tyre to the new 7 Series, but for the first time have also been chosen as the winter tyre original equipment supplier with our advanced runflat technology within this prestigious segment”, says Ho-Youl Pae, Head of Hankook Tire Europe.
