Goodyear to unveil new coach tyres at IAA

Goodyear is unveiling a new coach tyre programme, which, along with the latest products and other technical developments from the tyre manufacturer, will be shown at the 2012 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany, on stand B22 in Hall 12 from September 20 to 27.

The Goodyear Marathon Coach and Goodyear Ultra Grip Coach are both brand new tyres for modern coaches. The Marathon Coach is an all-position tyre and Ultra Grip is a winter drive tyre. Although Goodyear has been a major tyre supplier to the coach industry for many years, these are the first dedicated coach tyres offered by the company. More information will be revealed at the IAA, underlining the outstanding wear characteristics and comfort features that coach fleet operators have reported during extended customer testing.

Goodyear is renowned for the development of innovative technologies and products. Part of the IAA stand will be given over to a display of such products which will be announced at the show. These innovations will give a glimpse into the work Goodyear Dunlop is committed to for the future benefit of commercial vehicle operators.

In addition, Goodyear Dunlop will unveil a special truck built from LEGO bricks, which will play a key role in a charity project to support the European truck driver initiative, DocStop for Europeans e.V. DocStop offers medical assistance to truck drivers on the road. The aim is to make sure that every truck driver in Europe has easy access to a doctor if he needs one – just like at home. The charity project and other world premieres will be presented at a press conference on the Goodyear Dunlop stand at 1.15 pm on Wednesday September 19, 2012 in Hanover.

For truck operators, in particular fleet managers, the Goodyear Dunlop stand will further feature the Goodyear ‘Dream Team’ comprising the Marathon LHS II+ steer tyre, LHD II+ drive tyre and LHT II trailer tyre. Thanks to the new EU tyre Label grades, buyers can now see the clear benefits these tyres offer in terms of fuel economy, wet grip and exterior noise. Goodyear TreadMax and Dunlop MultiTread retread products will also be displayed to highlight the benefits that retreads offer in terms of economy and ecology.

Last but not least, Goodyear Dunlop will have a daily raffle during the IAA. Each day visitors have the chance to win either the largest LEGO Technic model in history, the LEGO Technic Unimog U400 – with 2,048 components, or a LEGO Technic Logging Truck.
