Goodyear is delighted to announce that the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 has been ranked top in the coveted evo tyre test 2013.

The win is one of many for the popular, premium tyre including the Auto Express Best Product Award 2012 and 2013 and the Auto Express Tyre Test 2011 and 2012.

The tyre, which is designed to answer the most pressing needs of consumers of Ultra High Performance tyres with its ActiveBraking Technology, beat seven rivals to the title following a series of intensive tyre tests. The tyre size tested was a 225/40R18 and evo used a Mercedes A200 in disciplines such as wet and dry braking and handling as well as curved and straight aquaplaning to discover which tyre was best.

Out of the eight independent tests carried out on the tyre, Goodyear scored well across the board with evo commending the tyre in the subjective testing which is one of the most important tests for the magazine.

Henry Catchpole from evo said: “It always let you know how much grip you were using in both the dry and the wet, which then lets you work right up to and over the limited of the tyres with real confidence. It is a deserving victor, and certainly more than just a black round thing with Goodyear on the side.”

Michelle Fisher, Goodyear Brand Manager said: “Our Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyre continues to prove its worth as an increasing number of independent experts discover its strengths on both wet and dry road surfaces.

“It is a clear recognition that the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is being seen as one of the best tyres on the market today, and being ranked top by such an influential and premium automotive magazine really adds credibility to our brand and message.

“We are proud that our multi award winning tyre is also original equipment fitment on an impressive list of vehicles which includes exclusive high performance vehicles such as the Mercedes-Benz CLS, Audi A4 and Porsche 911 Carrera 2.”
