Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe has signed a contract with GE Equipment Services Europe B.V., one of the largest tyre deals in Europe.
The three-year contract is for the supply and service of tyres for the company’s 70,000-strong pan-European TIP Trailer Services fleet.
Goodyear Dunlop won the tyre contract for TIP Trailer Services in 2006; the contract renewal reflects the successful relationship between the two companies as well as the performance of the Goodyear and Dunlop tyres and the quality of service provided.
The contract includes not only the supply of tyres for the TIP fleet but also tyre-related service, with Goodyear FleetOnlineSolutions (FOS) as a key element. FOS is an Internet-based tyre management program that is accessible by Goodyear and its customer, as well as both companies’ workshop network. It provides details of the customer’s tyre policy to the TruckForce service provider network and other data for each vehicle. It ensures that all work is carried out to the agreed specification and at agreed prices with customer authorization. FOS reduces down time, as guarantees of payment are not required, and a central invoicing system ensures the minimum amount of paperwork. For the fleet manager, FOS offers central reporting on tyre performance and associated costs.
With approximately 70,000 units on the road, TIP Trailer Services is the industry leader in trailer rental and leasing, having one of the largest and most diverse trailer, tanker, intermodal and truck fleets in Europe. The company provides a very wide range of equipment types on both short-term rental and long-term lease. TIP Trailer Services also offers a range of value-added services, which include maintenance, tyres, roadside assistance and damage repair, as well as smart fleet management solutions such as asset tracking and tyre pressure monitoring systems. Goodyear Dunlop is working closely within the contract to provide TIP with support, where appropriate, to further enhance service delivery to its customers. The main tyres covered are Goodyear and Dunlop brands for both long and regional haul applications, predominately in sizes 385/65R22.5 and 435/50R19.5. These include the low rolling resistance Goodyear Marathon LHT II 435/50R19.5 tyre that achieves ‘A’ and ‘C’ EU tyre Label grades in Fuel Efficiency and Wet Grip respectively. TIP especially appreciates Goodyear’s high quality NextTread retread tyres that in combination with new tyres provide the best cost performance.
“At TIP Trailer Services we always strive to offer the very best to our customers. Our partnership with Goodyear Dunlop not only ensures that our equipment has the best performing tyres with excellent support, but also the reporting and invoicing ensure the best management practices as well”, said Paul Beadle, European Operations Leader at TIP Trailer Services.
“We are really delighted that TIP Trailer Services has again chosen Goodyear Dunlop as its tyre and tyre service provider”, said Boris Stevanovic, Marketing Director Truck tyres, Goodyear Dunlop EMEA. “This contract combines all of our services, including FleetOnlineSolutions, with fuel-saving Goodyear tyres, NextTread retreads and our ability to provide all of this right across Europe.”
