Glynn Coaches chooses Alcoa Wheels

Alcoa Wheel Products Europe, represented in Ireland by D26 has entered the light duty segment with new 16.0 x 5.5 wheel.

The new 16.0 x 5.5 wheel weighs 7,7 kgs, has a maximum load of 1060 kg and is available in Dura-Bright® finish.


Alcoa wheels are manufactured from a single block of high-strength corrosion resistant aluminium alloy. With a 8,000 tons press the block is forged into a wheel shape. Once forged the wheels are heat-treated to maximize overall mechanical strengths.

The Alcoa forging process aligns the grain flow of aluminium with the shape of the wheel, even in the critical area where disc and rim meet. This process results in wheels with unrivalled forged strength.

Compared to steel wheels,
Alcoa wheels are up to 35 per cent lighter, four times stronger and come with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.
