Firestone reveals new Roadhawk 2 Enliten

Firestone has revealed the new Roadhawk 2 Enliten, the successor to its Roadhawk summer touring tyre.

Engineered with the innovative tyre technology platform Enliten, this latest tyre is said by Firestone to provide best-in-class wet grip, enhanced mileage and improved fuel/energy consumption compared to its previous generation.

This latest Firestone addition is also electric vehicle-ready, meaning it is capable of meeting both the general performance demands of any vehicle and the specific requirements of electric vehicles.

As the name suggests, the Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten has been engineered with Bridgestone’s Enliten technology. This is described as “a combination of cutting-edge technologies providing maximum safety, outstanding tyre performance and improved sustainability characteristics”.

In the case of the new Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten, this is said to be combined with an innovative mixing technology and the integration of NanoPro-Tech, a high silica content compound that provides robust abrasion resistance and longer mileage.

The Bridgestone-owned brand claims the result is a tyre with significant performance upgrades from the Firestone Roadhawk’s previous generation.

An EU label A-grade confirms the Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten’s “best-in-class” wet grip capabilities, with a claimed 20 per cent mileage increase on the original Firestone Roadhawk and a 12 per cent rolling resistance reduction to optimise vehicle fuel/energy consumption.

The latest tyre from Firestone is available from January 2024 in sizes from 17- to 21-inches. With 19 additional sizes than the original Roadhawk, the Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten launches with an increased focus on the HRD/HRD+ segment, and covers 90 per cent of the total MID summer market.

Firestone says that 16 inch sizes will be available from January 2025, taking the total available sizes to 112.
