Eddie Lohan RIP

The death has been announced of Eddie Lohan Senior, formally of Castle Street Tyres in Roscommon town. His sons Eddie Jnr. and Gerard (Gerry) operate the successful business in Roscommon.

Eddie, from the Racecourse Road in Roscommon town, passed away peacefully on 6th June, surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital.

He is being widely mourned, and early tributes described him as an absolute gentleman (he was indeed), who had great time for everyone.

Eddie will be forever missed by his beloved wife Mary, family Eddie, Claire, Stephen and Gerard, daughters-in-law Suzanne, Margaret and Michelle, son-in-law Mark Hanley, sisters Maureen and Ann, brothers Christy and Anthony, grandchildren Sophie, Tomás, Emily, Jessica, Róisín, Senan, Tadgh, Maebh and Amelia, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many good friends. He is predeceased by his brothers Johnny, Paddy, Michael and Seamus.

His three sons Eddie Jnr., Stephen and Gerard are well-known former Roscommon footballers.

The Lohan family have conveyed their sincere thanks to those who took such great care of Eddie during his illness and also to everyone for their kindness and support at this time.

The funeral details are as follows:

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on this evening (Thursday) from 5pm until 7pm.

The removal from his home on Friday morning at 10.30pm, arriving at the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial will be after mass in Ballinderry Cemetery.
