DCU Solar Racing to run on Bridgestone tyres

Bridgestone Ireland has teamed up with Dublin City University’s solar car racing team to support them as they prepare for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia in 2025.

The race attracts universities from around the world who compete with solar cars over a 3,000km circuit. The aim of the race is to encourage development around solar powered cars and technology. Bridgestone Ireland will supply the team with ultra-low rolling resistance tyres and provide some mentoring and expertise drawn from Irish motorsport.

“This is an amazing opportunity to be involved with the next generation of Irish engineers as they apply their knowledge to solar car technology in a competitive challenge,” said Colm Conyngham, Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Bridgestone Ireland. “We are delighted that ‘DCU Solar Racing’ will test and run on Bridgestone Tyres,” added Colm.
