It’s been just over two years since Davanti first launched at Autopromotec in Italy and its growth and investment shows no sign of slowing. Originally launched across a limited range of 70 summer sizes, the Davanti range has now expanded to over 250 sizes/fitments including a newly released Wintoura winter tyre range.
The Wintoura range shows Davanti’s commitment to its global growth plans with a particular focus on the key European tyre market. The UK & Ireland has a stable sales volume in the winter market, which Davanti hopes to capitalise on with a UK focussed size and product range.
The Davanti Wintoura, available across a range of four unique patterns, is the result of three years of intensive design and development that concluded at the Test World Oy testing ground in Finland. Peter Cross, General Manager of Davanti Tyres says; “From an initial concept three years ago to production is a long time but the wait to introduce these high quality and performance enhanced winter patterns has been well worth it.”
“The Wintoura range joins our highly popular summer tyre range and is currently available in most European markets in our four patterns – Wintoura, Wintoura+, Wintoura SUV and Wintoura Van with each tyre skillfully optimised for their specific application across fifty one fitments.”
The Wintoura is a directional high performance winter pattern incorporating twin wide circumferential grooves complete with lateral channels to further enhance water dispersement and boost aquaplaning performance. Whilst angled tread block edges significantly reduce road noise plus numerous zig-zag sipes give increased traction and lateral grip on ice and snowbound roads ensuring impressive levels of safety, comfort and fuel efficiency.
The Wintoura+ is a ultra high performance asymmetric tyre with a tread pattern consisting of three main non-uniform circumferential grooves that provide efficient water displacement whilst three specially designed circumferential sipes and lateral grooves across the inner tread zone guarantee further improved traction and excellent braking performance in all winter conditions. Finally solid joined outer blocks plus a square shoulder layout presents precise steering response and increased driving comfort.
The Wintoura SUV pattern has a specially designed directional tread that providing excellent traction and overall driving performance on snow along with two main circumferential jagged grooves and lateral channels for effective clearing of water to safeguard against aquaplaning. Additional features include 3D sipes for extra grip on ice and snow along with connected outer shoulder blocks to further increase handling stability at higher corner speeds.
Finally the Wintoura Van tyre offers an optimised symmetric tread pattern specially designed for high traction and impressive braking performance in the most severe winter road conditions whilst three circumferential tapered main grooves effectively resist aquaplaning and improve traction and robust interlocked centre tread blocks with three dimensional sipes guarantee reliable performance in all winter conditions. Also an increased tread depth gives higher mileage return and exceptional performance when driving in demanding conditions such as snow and soft and muddy surfaces.
Peter Cross concludes, “We have produced a highly impressive range of tyres across several markets and Davanti are already emerging as a highly competitive option against more established brands. Our constantly increasing number of dealers in the UK and Europe continue to support and embrace our growth momentum and Davanti is now looking towards further coverage across the whole of Europe in due course.”
