As latest figures show more than half of motorists are failing their NCT tests, the Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) has warned of motorists dicing with danger in our increasingly wet conditions by not having their tyres replaced in time.
Over 100 candidates have now completed the Irish Tyre Industry Association’s (ITIA) accreditation programme. This ATA Accreditation is offered to ITIA members and is facilitated by the Institute of the Motor Industry trainer, David O Neill.
A meeting will take place today 5th March at 2.30pm in Finnstown Country House Hotel, Lucan, Co. Dublin, to discuss the way forward for tyre waste management in Ireland. Roger Harrington from the Department of Environment, Culture and Local Government (DECLG) will discuss the findings of the recent PRI review report.
TRACS (the Tyre Recovery Activity Compliance Scheme) has commented on the review of the PRI (Producer Responsibility Initiative) model, proposed for the Irish tyre industry, which was published at the end of 2013.
