Continental develops Innovative Recycling Machine for Rubberised Steel Cord
Continental has developed a new approach to recycling rubberised steel cord scrap – a by-product of its tyre production. The device, called the “Hurricane Machine” makes it possible to separate uncured rubber compound and steel cord, a development which marks yet another step in Continental’s pursuit of making tyre production more sustainable.

Bridgestone extends new regional truck tyre range
Bridgestone is adding to the newly-developed R-STEER 001 and R-DRIVE 001 truck tyres, currently available in size 315/80R22.5. Additional dimensions for the R-STEER 001 will be available in sizes 295/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 385/65R22.5, while the R-DRIVE 001 will also be available in 295/80R22.5 as well as 315/70R22.5.

Pirelli’s new winter tyre initiative in Northern Ireland
Pirelli has launched a new winter initiative for the UK, which aims to reward customers who purchase winter tyres. The benefits of cold weather tyres are only felt if temperatures fall lower than seven degrees Celsius so Pirelli has guaranteed a 50% refund should temperatures remain higher for more than 30 days.
