Carey Agri in Quilty, Co Clare offers its services in a part of Ireland where animal husbandry is paramount, so its specialities are mainly grass and hay related.
It is a relatively young company and started out about 15 years ago, when Brian and his brother Declan Carey had a spreader which they also used to spread manure for other farmers.
They operate a fleet of more than 20 tractors and assorted machineries, such as mowers, balers, self-loading wagons and loaders.
Through their tyre supplier, Jim O’Hanlon of the Modern Tyres and Vredestein agri dealer network, the Carey brothers heard about Vredestein. They decided to fit a test set of Vredestein Traxion + on one of their tractors and said the results speak for themselves.
The Carey brothers say: “These tyres last for an incredible number of hours. More to the point, they offer better traction, even when they are worn, unlike many other brands. They also pick up surprisingly little dirt, keeping the county road commissioner and fellow road users very happy.”
That tractor has to date clocked more than 9,000 hours and the tyres still have around 25 per cent of life left, the Carey brothers say.
The brothers say they have become big advocates for the Vredestein brand. All tractors needing replacement tyres will be in line for a new set of Vredestein from their nearest Modern Tyres.
