Bridgestone wins new SUV tyre test

The Bridgestone Dueler Sport H/P (Highway Performance) has topped the rankings in a new comparative SUV tyre test conducted by French car magazine l’Argus de l’Automobile, published in its edition of 23 May 2013.

Evaluating six leading brands of SUV tyres, l’Argus declared the Dueler Sport H/P the overall winner of its “quality-price” ranking and the only tyre to score 4.5 stars out of 5.

L’Argus evaluated the six tyre brands on road handling, braking on dry and wet, aquaplaning resistance, rolling resistance and noise level.  In addition to its No.1 overall ranking, the Dueler Sport H/P won top spot for dry braking (both 90 to 0 km/h and 130 to 0 km/h) and road handling (responsiveness, precision, stability,…), and was joint No.1 for wet handling.

“The Dueler Sport H/P was designed to give new-generation SUVs exceptional all-round performance and comfort on road – and this test shows that Bridgestone has achieved its goal,” said José Enrique Gonzales, Director Consumer Marketing, Bridgestone Europe.

Track tests were performed on a leading private test circuit in France, using size 215/65 R16 on a Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dci 130ch. L’Argus used a reference tyre on all track evaluations to eliminate any variables such as wind and track temperature.

The weekly magazine L’Argus de l’Automobile (printed circulation +/-50,000 ex) is an important reference in France for information and prices on new and second-hand cars.
