Bridgestone is to invest approximately US$182.5 million in its factory in Poznan, Poland, which opened 20 years ago this year.
The factory is one of the largest employers in the region and its products are exported to more than 40 countries. The Aston Martin DB11 uses tyres exclusively from the Polish plant.
The Poznan plant also exports to auto makers including Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, Maserati, Porsche and Mercedes.
In order to meet market demands, the Bridgestone factory in Poznan now employs approximately 2,000 people. To put that into context, the plant had 26 members of staff at its opening in 1998, some of which are still employed in Poznan by Bridgestone.
The Bridgestone Poznan plant occupies an area of around 26 hectares.
