Bridgestone reunited with Daly’s Formula Opel Lotus

Bridgestone Ireland was recently reunited with the Formula Opel Lotus of the late Vivion Daly at the Mondello Park Carole Nash Historic Festival.

Bridgestone was sponsor and tyre supplier to the series during the 1990s and Vivion Daly, brother of Derek, was one of the leading drivers.

His Abrakebabra 2FM liveried car was a familiar site on the grid for all of the Formula Opel Lotus races at this time. The car is once again in the ownership of the Daly family and can be seen in the Birrane Collection Museum at Mondello Park.

“This car and the late Vivion Daly were a significant part of Bridgestone’s motorsport heritage in Ireland,” said Colm Conyngham, Bridgestone. “It was a real pleasure to see it once again and meet up with Vivion’s family.”
