Bridgestone opens new logistics facility in Burgos
Bridgestone has opened a new smart logistics facility for tyre storage at its Burgos site in Spain.
According to Bridgestone, the new ‘Tizona’ centre allows it to store more than 800,000 tyres in a single location.
Tizona spans over 44,500 square metres and is the result of an investment of more than €40 million, which Bridgestone says creates over 50 jobs.
Bridgestone adds that the new centre boasts 10 metres of storage height, 24 loading docks, and over 31 truck holding zones.
The tyre maker says Tizona significantly increases its export capacity, and strengthens the global sales and distribution capabilities of the Burgos site.
Bridgestone claims the new facility sets “a benchmark in the industry”.
Tizona has also received a “Very Good” rating from sustainable construction certifier, BREEAM. Bridgestone says the centre was developed in collaboration with Panattoni, a leading logistics-industrial real estate developer in Europe, using a selection of high-quality and sustainable materials.
