Bridgestone’s 4×4 range offers a tyre for almost every vehicle and 4×4 application including SUV motorway driving and extreme off-road conditions.
 
The Dueler HP Sport is one of Bridgestone’s most technologically advanced  4×4 tyres and it has become the flagship in its range. The tyre has been designed with luxury and sporty SUV’s and 4×4’s in mind and is fitted to a wide range of vehicles as original equipment. These include vehicles manufactured by Audi, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, VW, Mazda, Porsche and BMW.

The tyre provides driving precision, class leading wet performance and superior comfort levels. It has an aggressive and sporty design with an asymmetric tread pattern for larger rim sizes.

The Dueler Highway / Performance 680 remains a popular fitment in Bridgestone’s 4×4 range. It provides on-road 4×4 enthusiasts with a top performance level normally attributed to ultra high performance passenger car tyres. Its very aggressive unidirectional and state-of-the-art pattern design ensures maximum wet performance and sporty handling anytime, on highways and secondary roads. A special compound developed by Bridgestone, and used in the 680, reduces rubber hardening and helps maintain more consistent performance in the wet over the whole life of the tyre.
The Dueler H/T 689/687/684/840 Highway Terrain tyres are S+H speed rated 4×4, which are popular original equipment tyres fitted to a considerable number of current 4×4 models. Their success is due to their refined and well-balanced highway-oriented performance. Offering well balanced driving performance, small block and all-season tread pattern they give outstanding grip in all weather. Their design provides a smooth comfortable drive, with quiet running and modern styling to accentuate the vehicle’s looks. The popular D840 comes as original equipment on the Toyota Landcruiser.

Another key tyre in the Bridgestone 4×4 range is the Dueler A/T 694 All Terrain tyre. Bridgestone has designed the Dueler A/T 694 to meet the growing demand from urban drivers for rugged all-terrain patterns. This tyre keeps the capability and appeal of an aggressive all-terrain look, while providing outstanding on-road performance – especially in the wet. Applied for the first time on a Bridgestone 4×4 tyre, the Dueler A/T 694 incorporates ‘Shark-Skin’ technology that reduces flow resistance on the groove walls, improving drainage away from the blocks and reducing hydro-plaining. In addition the tread blocks are shaped to equalise contact pressure distribution, thus raising overall performance and reducing the wear rate. It is a particularly good tyre for drivers going on and off road.

Bridgestone has recently introduced the Dueller 400 with a run-flat (RFT) version of the tyre.  A 19” and 20’’ Dueler H/P Sport RFT tyre, with asymmetric tread pattern, are currently supplied on the new BMW X5 and X6. Furthermore, 18” and 19’’ versions of the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 RFT will be featured on certain models with all-seasons specification.The Dueler H/P Sport RFT is Bridgestone’s first 4×4 run flat tyre for luxury SAV’s (Sport Activity Vehicles).

It delivers the same superb wet and dry handing, steering precision and comfort as the non-flat variant, which has earned glowing praise from car manufacturers and motorists alike since its launch at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. The RFT version takes this premium performance a step further, adding safety and peace of mind. The reinforced sidewalls enable the driving to continue driving safely after loss of tyre pressure, avoiding a potentially lethal blow-out situation.

A non run-flat version of the Dueller 400 tyre is being fitted as original equipment on the Nissan Pathfinder and the Mercedes M and R class.
