Bridgestone Corporation and Bridgestone (China) Investment Co., Ltd. have announced a joint donation of RMB 3 million (about US $430,000) to China Charity Federation and other provincial charity organisations to assist with Covid-19 relief and recovery efforts in China.
The donation will go towards charity organisations for the supply of medical equipment for hospitals and other recovery activities across the nation. The funds will also provide direct support to healthcare staff on the frontline of this crisis.
“Guided by Bridgestone’s global CSR commitment ‘Our Way to Serve’, we’re committed to supporting our local communities in their efforts against COVID-19. In addition, we extend our highest appreciation to all healthcare staff and volunteers who are working tirelessly during this period,” said Yasuhiro Morita, president and CEO of Bridgestone China.
He added: “We would also like to express our deepest sympathy to those who have been affected by COVID-19, especially those who have lost family members and loved ones.”
Bridgestone also stated that it has been closely monitoring the situation and has undertaken a series of business continuity initiatives to ensure employees’ safety and well-being.
