Bridgestone Ireland is continuing its cooperation with The Tree Council of Ireland and other NGOs to plant over 15,000 trees in Ireland by 2025.
The trees planted by Bridgestone will be predominantly indigenous varieties and they will concentrate their initial planting on sites in proximity to road transport infrastructure. One of the first Bridgestone sites is adjacent to the motorway at Athenry in Co. Galway.
“By planting trees in Ireland we hope to help establish new habitats for wildlife and also remove some CO2 from the atmosphere. This will be part of increasing activity by Bridgestone to contribute to the sustainability of the environment through our products and business operations and also by directly contributing to society,” said Colm Conyngham, Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Bridgestone Ireland.
