You and a friend could be jetting off to Rio thanks to a new app from Official World Cup Sponsor, Continental Tyres.

ContiRioKick has just been launched and every month until and including April 2014, one player will win a trip for two to the World’s biggest football tournament in Brazil next summer.

For football fans across Europe it couldn’t be easier to play – download the free app, pass the ball to friends or anyone else in the game and every completed pass builds your points total.  The top 11 players in the European league at the end of each month will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to attend next summer’s action in Brazil.

Football fans from 15 countries across the world have already joined in the fun, passing a total of 136,141 balls to other players.

As well as starting a pass move yourself, points can be earned if someone passes you a ball and you accept it and pass it on.

The longer the passing sequence and the earlier in the sequence you are, the more points awarded – so getting more people involved leads to success. The longest pass sequence so far involved 12 players and crossed a total virtual distance of 38,819km.

The ball can be passed either to friends or, via a unique feature, to other people in the game you don’t know. In ‘radar mode’ the game will identify others with the app so you can also pass the ball to them. Every player can reduce or increase the scope of the radar to find other players in their location to pass to.

Once you receive a pass you have 90 seconds to pass it on, return the pass to the player who sent it to you or to kick the ball on. Every completed pass prompts an instant update on your score for that month.

Altogether, passes have so far clocked up a total distance of 64 million km.

The monthly winners will make up the Continental team heading to the FIFA World Cup 2014.

With the scores level at the start of every month, if you miss out in a particular month, you have the chance to win next time.
