For performance-inspired SUVs, such as the Porsche Cayenne, then the flagship Yokohama ADVAN range fits the bill. Both the ADVAN Sport and ADVAN ST have been developed to provide the manufacturer’s famous reputation for performance, grip, safety and enjoyment combined with the higher load index and speed rating such vehicles demand. The ADVAN Sport has been selected as OE fitment for the AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Audi Q7.

For everyday use on the increasing number of SUVs in the UK, then the Geolandar SUV tyre has been created to deliver passenger car-like levels of comfort and performance while providing low noise and excellent levels of wet weather grip. It uses many of Yokohama’s environmental initiatives to gain the brand’s coveted BluEarth label, including Orange Oil Technology and a lightweight design.

The Geolandar SUV performs so well that Jeep has approved this tyre as OE fitment to the Grand Cherokee model.

The recently-announced Geolandar G056 is a replacement for the previous H/T model and is the next step up for drivers looking for exemplary road manners but combined with the confidence to occasionally tackle more demanding situations and conditions. Again, the G056 uses many of Yokohama’s innovations, including Orange Oil Technology to help improve wet grip for safety while exhibiting low noise and rolling resistance for efficiency.

The tread design has been developed to satisfy these requirements as well as generate traction in slippery or muddy conditions, so that drivers can rely on the Geolandar G056 to get them out of trouble if the need arises and allow them to continue on their journey.

The most extreme on/off-road tyre from Yokohama is the A/T-S, dubbed the ‘Soulmate to adventure’. It is aimed at SUVs and 4x4s which spend similar amounts of time on and off-road and has been developed to excel in both conditions. Large tread blocks with 3D sipes and four central grooves develop traction in the worst of conditions while a stepped tread design helps to eliminate drumming and resonance when used on road.

The A/T-S has also been approved by Mercedes-Benz for use on the G-Class 4×4.
