Pirelli set to unveil new high performance tyre

Pirelli is launching a road car tyre that will continue its high performance pedigree: the Pirelli P Zero Silver.

Like the P Zero Corsa System, the P Zero Silver has been developed from the manufacturer’s involvement in motorsports, but this time it is derived from the P Zero Formula One tyres that have been widely praised by drivers, teams and media throughout the 2011 season.

On the grand prix track, the P Zero Silver is the hardest compound tyre in Pirelli’s F1 range, combining ground-breaking performance with extended durability. These are also the values behind the new P Zero Silver for high-performance sports cars on the road.

The P Zero Silver road car tyre shares the same modelling process as Pirelli’s grand prix tyres, using cutting-edge mathematical simulation to finalise the design of the tyres under a wide range of road conditions.

The new road car tyre also shares the same development and production technology for its compound and construction as the Formula One tyres. In particular, the P Zero Silver tyre will be produced using the latest MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotised System) technology at Pirelli’s Settimo Torinese plant in Italy: the research centre where the current Formula One compounds are developed.
