Tyre technicians get IMI accreditation

The first tranche of IMI Accredited tyre technicians will receive their accreditation certificates at the Irish Tyre Industry Association's Annual Dinner which takes place on Thursday, March 1 at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

This is an exciting development for the tyre industry, as it is the first independent accreditation programme for the tyre industry in Ireland.

ITIA President, Brian O Neill commented: “We are delighted to see our ITIA members collectively support this scheme, which helps improve standards across the board. Many of the technicians going forward for accreditation are very experienced and proficient tyre technicians and it shows that the owners and managers of these outlets appreciate the benefit of independent accreditation.”

He added: “The Accreditation is being run by the Irish Motor Institute (IMI) and will rubber stamp a technician's level of expertise. It will give customers the reassurance that you take the skill level of your employees seriously.  This will also help to build customer loyalty, as the accreditation will distinguish your outlet from those without accreditation.”
