New Maxxis plant to be built in Xiamen
Maxxis International is to build a new production facility in Xiamen on China’s south east coast, where it already operates two successful factories.
Phase one of the new Xiamen factory is scheduled to be completed in 2011 and when the plant is fully operational production capacity is scheduled to be 30,000 car tyres a day. The facility will serve both domestic and export markets and will be similar to the one Maxxis is building in Chong Qing, west China, in that it will be to the same design and specification as the Maxxis factory in Rayong Province, Thailand, which has proved to be a very successful enterprise since its launch six years ago.
Established in 1967, Maxxis International has made its name in automotive, light truck, motorcycle, ATV, bicycle, turf and industrial tyres and distributes its extensive range in around 170 countries. The company is now one of the world’s top ten tyre manufacturers and has already announced plans to develop new factories in Taiwan and Kunshan, central China to meet increasing demand. In addition to its manufacturing bases in China, Maxxis currently operates factories in Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam and has research and development facilities in Asia, Europe and North America.
