Increased demand for tyre pressure monitoring systems
The introduction of the UK's Health and Safety (Offences) Act 2008, which came into effect in January this year has increased the demand for tyre pressure monitoring systems, according to one leading supplier.
Aide Automotive says enquiries for its tyre pressure monitoring kit PressurePro have increased since in recent months on the back of the new regulations.
The maximum penalty for running illegal tyres has increased from £5,000 to £20,000. Aide Automotive says keeping tyres at the correct pressures will help cut fuel costs as well prolonging tyre life.
